Early Years
John Brewer was born and raised in Phenix City, Alabama. His mother was the Executive Director of Stewart Community Home- an assisted living facility located in Columbus, Georgia, before becoming a grade school teacher in the public school system. John’s father served honorably in the United States Navy before his retirement.
John attended Central High School in Phenix City and graduated early- at the age of sixteen he began attending his local college on a GI-Dependent scholarship thanks to his father’s service in the military. John graduated top of his class, summa cum laude, with a 3.909 GPA and received awards in language and writing. Thereafter, John obtained an academic scholarship to Auburn University to continue his education.
Undergraduate/ Graduate degrees
John spent two years at Auburn University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Supply Chain Management and Logistics. While attending Auburn University, John was employed as a security officer for apartment complexes in the area and played in rec- league sports. Further, as an avid fan he also attended countless university sporting events and participated in various social activities within the community.
After graduating from Auburn, John enrolled at Samford University, Cumberland School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree. During his second year of law school John began interning with the Superior Court Judges in Muscogee County, Georgia.
Experience/Practice
After graduating from law school, John became a Superior Court Law Clerk working for the judges of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit in Georgia, performing legal research and drafting court orders among other documents and responsibilities.
Upon completing his clerking tenure John spent years defending the indigent, working in the Public Defender’s Office- ultimately managing an extensive criminal case load in Superior Court with allegations that ranged from low level felonies to Aggravated Assaults up to and including murder.
After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, John worked for various private firms in Columbus Georgia honing his skills in several legal fields in particular such as: Criminal Defense (obtained: favorable plea bargains, bonds; OR bonds, trials – jury verdicts, and dismissals) Personal Injury/Premises Liability/Civil Litigation (obtained: favorable settlements, trials – jury verdicts), and Family/Domestic Law including Juvenile Law (obtained: settlements/trials- parental rights, divorces, alimony, custody, assets, agreements, equity judgments, visitation, support, name change). Each of these practice areas would later evolve into a division of The Brewer Law Firm.
Birth of The Brewer Law Firm
In 2024 John decided to open his own law firm founded in the principles of justice and morality that he believes in, including the basics like good old-fashioned hard work and determination and built on the notions that, while all of our cases are not personal injury cases, each and every one is personal, every client is unique and every client deserves a zealous advocate.
We regularly encounter individuals in turmoil; in the midst of the worst experience(s) of their life. These events happen at the worst possible time and cause immense stress and anxiety. Often times a simple consult alone can help to resolve many common issues or relieve many common legal concerns. However, no matter the type or “size” of the case, at The Brewer Law Firm, our recipe is the same- and it is quite simple: we treat clients respectfully, communicate effectively (and often) and work diligently using expert legal insight, knowledge, training, skills and resources to obtain our case goals to each client’s individual satisfaction.
These principles are the foundation of each and every division in our firm and extend to our partners and resources no matter your legal needs. At the Brewer Law Firm, early on in the process the teamwork begins. Together we will collaborate and set case goals and reasonable expectations. At the end of the day, our results speak for themselves, and we stand ready to fight for you.
